POLS 374 has two required texts, Global Politics as if People Mattered and Globalism: Market Ideology Meets Terrorism (2nd edition). Both books can be purchased on Amazon.com by clicking the links above.
POLS 550 has only one required textbook: Transitions to Democracy. However, I strongly urge students who have not taken POLS 373 to purchase and read Doing Comparative Politics on their own. All students will be expected to have mastered the material covered in Doing Comparative Politics. I have also ordered a number of other texts for the course. These are strictly OPTIONAL: Inklings of Democracy in China and Capitalist Development and Democracy. All books mentioned here can be purchased on Amazon.com. In addition, the following texts are recommended for students who wish to deepen the knowledge of comparative politics in general and of democratization more specifically:
