Please be advised that notes from only a FEW classes will be posted here (in other words, do not rely on this page to find notes for classes you missed!) • In general, I will only post notes for classes in which the bulk of the lecture was based on non-required reading material. Check back often for updates.

November 30 (week ten) • Description: The notes for this week finish up from the previous week's topic on democratization, but mainly focus on the new topic of terrorism and the chapter, "What makes a terrorist?"

No Date (week eight) • Description. The notes for this week include overhead slides used in our discussion of democracy.

November 4, 2004 (week six) • Description: The notes for this week include overheads used in our discussion of East Asian development. The notes are available as html slides.

October 21, 2004 (weeks four and five) • Description. The "notes" for this week include overheads used in our discussion of rational choice, structuralism and poverty. The notes are saved as "html slides."
October 12, 2004 (week three) • Description: The "notes" for this week include theoretical statements about crime and terrorism, and a definition of theory (most of this material is already included in the textbook).

October 7, 2004 (week two) • Description. The "notes" for this week include the homicide statistics used in class. The slides are saved in a single PDF dorcument. Click on the PDF icon to the right to download the file.
