Course Description

This meteorology course looks at the changing patterns of weather and climate and the processes that are responsible for all the atmosphere’s various features.  As part of the LA: Hazards City theme, we will focus on weather-related hazards and how they impact our society, particularly in sunny southern California. And speaking of hazards, Sept. 21-26 was California Hazardous Weather Awareness Week at the National Weather Service.

Course Syllabus

While the lecture portion of the course will be in-class discussion, exploring the causes of weather events, the lab provides you with hands-on activities that compliment the lecture.  As a Learning Community theme course, some of these labs will be covered in both Geog. 170 and Geol. 158.
