2008 is SoCalBSI's sixth year. This year's program was comprised of 18 students - the most amount of students out of all the SoCalBSI programs. Two of the students were returning participants from the 2007 program.

This is the fifth year of the SoCalBSI program. The program consists of a total of 13 students (two of which are returning students from the 2006 program). The number of internship sites has increased since last year.

2006 is SoCalBSI's fourth year. With a total of 15 students (2 of whom are returning students from 2005), the program has grown bigger and better. 2006 is the final year of the SoCalBSI grant. However, due to its success in the previous years, SoCalBSI has been renewed for another 3 wonderful years. 2007 will be the first year of the renewel.

SoCalBSI 2005 Program

2005 is the third year of SoCalBSI. With the program in full swing, the core instructors improved the SoCalBSI curriculum, thereby enhancing the students' experiences within the program. 2005 included 14 very talented students from various bioinformatics-related fields of study.

SoCalBSI 2004 Program

2004 is the second year of SoCalBSI. The first year was such a success that some students returned for a second term. Like the 2003 program, the 2004 program also had 13 participating students in total. SoCalBSI is funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of health, and the Economic and Workforce Development.

SoCalBSI 2003 Program

2003 marked the first year of California State University, Los Angeles' Southern California Bioinformatics Summer Institute program. SoCalBSI is a grant project initiated by Principal Investigator and Associate Professor Dr. Jamil momand. With the help of other professors, mentors, and staff, the first year ended with great success.
