Welcome to SoCalBSI Objective & Goal Our goal is to offer a comprehensive research and learning experience for participating students interested in pursuing a career in Bioinformatics. Overview The Bioinformatics Summer Institute Program provides an opportunity for exceptionally talented students to participate in an extensive education program consisting of courses bridging molecular life sciences and computer sciences to achieve a common goal. Students will attend courses taught by core faculty from California State University, Los Angeles, have a unique opportunity to work with leading scientists and subsequently apply their knowledge towards a mentored state-of-the-art research project of their choice. News & Announcements 2008 Program Dates June 16, 2008 - August 21, 2008 2008 Mentor List - Now Available The 2008 mentor list is now online. View several exciting potential internship sites from world class institutions and researchers. 2008 Program - 17 Students SoCalBSI will be accepting up to 17 students for the 2008 program! The previous programs consisted of 13-15 students. 2008 Program - Stipend Increase The accepted participants in the 2008 program will receive $6000 for undergraduates and $7000 for graduate.
