In the porteria there is a frieze of carved coats of arms with the monograms of Christ, the Virgin Mary, and the Augustinian emblem, but the most interesting is the toponymic glyph of Malinalco that shows the malinalli (twisted grass), presenting the construction of the monastery as a local achievement.
