The Nuttall Codex is said to have been sent to Charles V in 1519 by Cortes. Genealogical and historical narrative illustrations are composites of the Nuttall Codex. The Codex is on animal skin-folds painted on both sides and is composed of forty-seven leaves total. Forty-two leaves of the obverse section present colored drawings depicting a genealogical and historical narrative, which is divided into six second sections.
This codex shows a genealogy of the first and second dynasties of Tilantongo through the marriage of 8 Deer and the genealogy of the rulers of Teozacoalco through the children of the rulers of the third Dynasty. |
