This last page of the Christian Doctrine (1553) by Pedro de Gante says:
In honor and glory to our lord, Jesus Christ and his holy mother, this is the end of the present Christian Doctrine in the Mexican Language, which was gathered by Fray Pedro de Gante of the Franciscan Order. lt was printed in the house of Juan Pablos, printer of books. Year of 1553.
Pedro de Gante (1486-1572) was an outstanding writer and translator of the Nahuatl language during the early colonial period in Mexico. The Friar was portrayed as "the first of the great educators of the Americas."
