In the interior of the church there is a monolithic stone baptismal font carved with joyful Indian floral motifs. This font has an inscription that makes reference to Pope Paul III and shows the date 1542. According to tradition, the famous Mexican poetess Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz was baptized in this font.
