| It is interesting to observe that the Aztecs borrowed some symbols from the Toltec myth: these signs are almost the same as those discovered years before by the Toltecs when they reached the sacred city of Cholula. For the Aztecs, the signs were a white juniper tree at the foot of which would be found two great rocks; and from these rocks flowed a spring of two colors, one stream of red color and the other stream of blue. All plants surrounding the spring were white, including the reeds and rushes, and in the water the frogs, fishes, and water snakes were all white. (Story 1 continues, click to next page) |
