A small building complex called Structure A, located about 30 meters south of the main pyramid, houses the Temple of the Stelae, named for three finely carved stone stelae recovered in the debris of the sanctuary. These magnificent monuments dated at about AD 600-700 had been intentionally defaced and broken, and were assembled again only after archaeologists broke through a stucco floor to recover the remaining fragments.
