| The architectural core of Bonampak is composed of a massive acropolis, built over a natural ridge, that overlooks a large plaza flanked by smaller platforms and buildings. The remainder of Bonampak is yet to be mapped though there are reports of additional platforms in the surrounding forests and on the opposite side of the river. | ||
