| After a long series of confrontations through ballgames, the Hero Twins, called Hun-Ahau and Yax-Balam in the Classic period, defeated the lords of Death and resurrected their fathers from the ballcourt. This painting from a ceramic vase shows the moment in which Hun-Ahau shoots at the Celestial Bird (impostor of the sun)with his blow gun. Behind him is Snake Mountain.
