| The Lacandon are a Maya group dwelling in the lowland forest of Chiapas, Mexico. The Lacandon Maya of the southern lowlands have remained relatively untouched by Western contact until the present century. Much of the ancient Maya ideology survives in the Lacandon belief system. | ||
