A ruler of great architectural vísion, 18 Rabbít shaped his city's sacred center into its greatest and most elegant incarnatíon. Over a twenty five year period, he remade the Great Plaza north of the BalIcourt, erectíng one stela after another, each portraying him in the ritual guise of a different god and more often than not as the embodiment of the World Tree. He created a forest of images manifesting the axis of communication and himself in the guise of the actors of the Creation myth. The big-stone forest also reflects a cosmic pattern, timed by the movements of Venus and the other planets, all interacting with the movements of the Milky Way and the constellations.
