The key historical evidence for Yax Kuk Mo', and for the Copan dynasty he is credited with founding, is provided by Altar Q, a rectangular stone dedicated by the last ruler, Yax Pac, and placed at the base of the Structure lOL-16 staírway in the West Court. The four sides of this monument display the carved portraits of the sixteen rulers in the dynasty, each seated on his name glyph, which serves as a throne.
