| The Hieroglyphic Stairway, Structure lOL-26, at Copan, was completed in the reign of the fifteenth ruler, Smoke Shell. The text carved on the steps records the history of the Copan polity. Stela M is at the base of the stairs to the left. Smoke Shell's portrait appears on the face of Stela M. | ||
