Public activity was not entirely centered on the Great Plaza. Broad raised causeways, paved with plaster and flanked by parapets, connected this civic core with other complexes of public buíldings. To the west, the Tozzer causeway leads to Temple IV, probably dedicated to Ah Cacaw's son and successor Yax Kin.
