| The palaces and courtyards of this large residential complex were used by the Classic-period rulers. The Central Acropolis consists of a maze of multiroom and multistory residential structures arranged around a series of internal courtyards. This area surely housed Tikal's ruling dynasty and their retaíners during much of the Classíc period. | ||
