During a huge renovatíon episode, the people of Tíkal buílt a new ball court and an extraordinary radial building in the East Plaza over the floor that had buried the twin-pyramid complex. This strange little temple (5D-43) stands in lonely ísolation. The most important feature of the building is the profile of the platform, whích had a style called talud-tablero by archaeologists. Traditionally, scholars have associated this platform style with the architecture at the site of Teotihuacan in central Mexico. Christopher Jones commented that its three-part profile has more affiníties with buíldings at El Tajín and Xochicalco, than with those at Teotíhuacan.
