The twin-pyramid groups were built to commemorate Katun endings and are associated with the last ídentified ruler of Tikal, known as Chitam (Ruler C). The first of these, and the largest at Tikal, is Twin Pyramid Group Q (4E-4), located east of the Maler Causeway, halfway between the East Plaza and Group H.
