Although the day names differed from language to language among Mayan-speaking groups, epigraphers traditionally use the Yucatec names recorded in Bishop Diego de Landa's report, "Relacion de las cosas de Yucatan". These 20 day glyphs correspond to the Tzolkin or 260 day ritual calendar.
