| Itzamna was the principal god of the Maya cosmos. He was the greatest shaman of all and the patron of his human counterparts. The left side of this image represents the god Itzamna making a turkey offering in the New Year's Pages of the Dresden Codex. To the right we see Itzamna calling up a crocodile tree.
