Palaces played an important part in the life of the great metropolis. They have provided information regarding the private lives of the people in high social positions. All the walls of the rooms and porches in these palaces are decorated with fresco painting. This particular mural shows in great detail a religious procession of jaguars aurrounded by watery elements. They blow conch shells that drip water symbolizing sacrifice and fertility rituals.
