| Buildings in the main plaza of Monte Alban were laid out in Periods II and III. The population had reached its maximum, perhaps upward of 20,000. Civic and ceremonial activities were carried out in the main plaza. Buildings were added and enlarged; elaborated decorated tombs with rich offerings abounded. | ||
