The beauty of Chalcatzingo's landscape and its riches inspired Dr. Aguilar to create a tributary poem for the "Sacred Landscape".
THE SACRED LANDSCAPE
Chalcatzingo,
I believe in the intense account of your myths;
I revere your thousand idolatries;
I love the abyss of your mythologies
and I share the blood of your rituals.
I believe in your carved stones,
with mysterious and symbolic reliefs,
language of jaguars, caves, and snakes,
song of the millenial Olmec Land.
Dark-skin Land, I need your lasting Fire;
talk to my Heart, for I can talk to you.
When is known what is hidden by the Soul,
the Heart answers to the Heart.
Blessed those that contemplate
your blue sky, your rocky mounts.
Blessed those that were born in your womb,
and admiring your mounts died with Joy. |
